I have two books, spread flat on my table, open to the first or second chapter. Three if you count the one in my purse that goes with me to doctor visits. For some unknown reason I haven't become engrossed. I haven't NEEDED to find out what happens next. I will still pick them up and read a page or two when I find myself seated near them, but without being desperate enough to keep going I take them to bed with me and read till 3am.
Usually when this happens I'll toss them back on my unread pile assuming it's me and I'm just not in the right mood for this particular story and I'll plan to try again later. However, Greg did such a good job defending Sanctuary when I brought it up, I'm hoping I'll mention these three nammes and someone will be able to step forward and offer up a defense, a character I'll love when I get to them, or other reason that I need to keep reading and keep reading and finish right now!
Hopefully, some of you have read them -- or one of them. Otherwise this won't end up being very useful at all. --[grin]--
So here they are, the three books I'm hoping you can defend:
Bone Song by John Meaney
Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn
and my purse book,
Boneshaker by Cherie Priest
Go to it.
Or if you haven't encountered these and have a book of your own you want some assurances for, put it in the comments and I'll see if I can stand up for something.
Thanks everyone!
